Brian Conley, Video Journalist
Hey there, you've found Brian Conley's tumblog. I'm an inveterate traveler, independent video journalist, producer, and filmmaker. Oh, and I run http://aliveinbaghdad.org
Is this complicated?
We’re all in this together. without a doubt. Wall Street needs to be fixed. But you’re not going to get anywhere with this mentality. It just makes people standoffish. Keep it up and the next bill will fail too. Wall street needs humility inplace of its hubris right now.
Dude. It’s not Wall Street you’re bailing out. It’s the United States of America.
Send people to jail!
That’s what America wants. I mean, if you’re talking about the same United States of America that I am. You know, the one that the political elites don’t really represent as soon as they’ve been in Washington for a few years, if they ever did.
Who broke the law? Who would you like to send to jail?
The people responsible for the predatory lending. (this was a bit of a parallel/horizontal-sequitir)
And if that’s not illegal, I’d argue that legal reforms to enable victims of predatory lending to at least sue, if not put the lenders in prison would be similarly effective for assuaging America’s collective economic tolerance for banks, bankers, and their friends.
Remember, at the end of the day, most of America doesn’t vote, and that’s because they don’t think it matters and/or don’t like their government. But they’re sure as hell going to take their money out of the banks and put it under the mattress if they think thats what’s best.
I’ll get back to you on a detailed list of whom should be sent up the river to the bighouse if I find the time tonight or tomorrow.
Also, I think you missed my earlier post where I described why they should go to jail.
